There’s this dual emotion we’ve all experienced
It’s liberation coupled with loneliness
A relationship comes to a seemingly tragic end
The sorting and filing away of feelings that seem too numerous to ever reveal any trend or result
Swimming to the bottom of your tear ducts for the reason,
for the answer to the question—
“Where did we go wrong?”
It’s the
unavoidable,
over-popular
form of masochism that even the most jaded among us can’t avoid
I myself, always wind up going through the same stages of grief
There’s the initial desire to throw ceramic plates, shave one’s head, and jump off bridges,
which after a brief moment of embarrassment for entertaining such childish whims,
quickly turns to the logical realization—
the best way to get back at someone who has hurt you is to do right by yourself, live happily, be better, grow, and self-satisfy.
